Maximilian the First by Hans Reichle

Project details
Customer: Fonderia de Andreis
Material: limewood
Description
An original copy of the 150-cm-tall bronze statue of Maximilian the First made by Hans Reichle at the end of the 16th century was scanned in Augsburg. The resultant 3-D data was then modeled in detail in order to obtain a larger copy of the statue. This 218-cm-tall figure was milled from Limewood and duplicated. The sculpted wooden figure served as a model for a larger-than-life-size bronze statue which is now exhibited in the Hofburg in Innsbruck.
